These terms govern your use of trainsegypt.com and any bookings made through our platform. By completing a booking, you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
Trains Egypt is an independent online booking service for sleeper train tickets on routes operated by Egyptian National Railways (ENR) and its franchised operators. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by ENR. We act as an intermediary between travellers and the railway, purchasing tickets on your behalf.
2. The booking process
When you complete a booking through our website:
- You authorise us to purchase a sleeper train ticket on your behalf using the passenger details you provide.
- Your payment is processed immediately and securely via Stripe.
- We book your ticket with the railway and deliver it to your email address within 2 hours during business hours. Bookings made outside business hours will be processed the following morning.
- Your booking is confirmed when you receive your ticket by email. Until then, it is pending.
3. Your responsibility for passenger details
Sleeper train tickets in Egypt are issued against passport details and are non-transferable. You are responsible for ensuring that all passenger names, nationalities, and passport numbers entered during booking are accurate. Errors in passenger details may prevent boarding. We cannot issue refunds for bookings where incorrect details were provided.
4. Pricing and payment
All prices displayed on our website are in GBP (British Pounds) and include our service fee. Prices are subject to change without notice until a booking is confirmed. Payment is processed by Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards. Your bank may apply foreign transaction fees, we have no control over this.
5. Refunds and cancellations
Sleeper train tickets are non-refundable once booked. This reflects the policy of the railway operator. We strongly recommend checking your travel dates carefully before completing payment. In the event of a train cancellation by the railway, we will work with you to obtain any refund or alternative the railway offers, but we cannot guarantee a refund.

6. Service availability
Train schedules, availability, and pricing are provided by the railway operator and may change without notice. We make every effort to display accurate information, but we cannot guarantee that trains shown as available will remain so by the time your booking is processed. In the rare event that a ticket cannot be secured, we will contact you and issue a full refund.
7. Our service fee
The prices shown on Trains Egypt include a service fee. This fee covers our booking service, English-language support, and ticket delivery. The fee is non-refundable in all circumstances.
8. Limitation of liability
Trains Egypt is not liable for: missed trains due to incorrect station attendance; delays or cancellations caused by the railway operator; loss or damage occurring during travel; or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your booking. Our liability is limited to the value of the ticket purchased.
9. Station information
Cairo sleeper trains depart from Bashtil Station (Upper Egypt Station), not Ramses Station. This changed in October 2024. We make every effort to keep our station information accurate. You are responsible for confirming departure arrangements before travel.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published at trainsegypt.com/terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
